About This Course

The DevOps Engineering with AWS Professional Training Programme is a comprehensive hands-on programme designed to equip learners with the technical and operational skills required to build, automate, deploy, monitor and maintain modern cloud applications.

Students begin with DevOps fundamentals, Linux administration, networking, Git and scripting before progressing into containerization with Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, CI/CD automation, monitoring, security and production operations.

The AWS portion covers practical experience with services including Amazon EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ECR, ECS, EKS, Lambda, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager and related technologies.

Students complete practical laboratories, module quizzes, deployment exercises and a capstone project before becoming eligible for the final examination and SolveTech Academy certificate.

This programme can also provide useful preparation toward AWS DevOps competencies, although the SolveTech Academy certificate should not be presented as an AWS-issued certification. AWS describes its own Professional certification as validating advanced skills in provisioning, operating and managing distributed application systems on AWS.

What You'll Learn

  • By completion, the student should be able to:
  • Explain DevOps principles, culture, SDLC and Agile practices.
  • Administer Linux servers using the command line.
  • Understand networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, ports and firewalls.
  • Manage source code with Git and GitHub.
  • Write Bash automation scripts.
  • Understand AWS architecture and core cloud services.
  • Provision EC2, storage, networking and databases.
  • Configure IAM and secure AWS resources.
  • Build Docker images and operate containers.
  • Deploy containerized workloads.
  • Understand and administer Kubernetes workloads.
  • Work with Amazon ECR, ECS and EKS.
  • Build infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Build infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement deployment strategies such as rolling, blue/green and canary deployments.
  • Manage application secrets securely.
  • Monitor applications and infrastructure.
  • Configure logging, metrics, alarms and operational visibility.
  • Build highly available and scalable AWS architectures.
  • Understand backup, disaster recovery, RTO and RPO.
  • Automate operational processes.
  • Troubleshoot failed builds and deployments.
  • Apply DevSecOps practices.
  • Deploy a complete production-style cloud application.
  • AWS’s current DOP-C02 framework specifically emphasizes continuous delivery, automated security/governance, monitoring and logging, highly available and self-healing systems, and operational automation.

Career Opportunities

  • Completing the DevOps Engineering with AWS programme equips students with practical skills applicable to a wide range of roles in cloud computing, software delivery, infrastructure management, automation, and IT operations.
  • Students will develop hands-on experience with AWS, Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, security, and automation, providing a strong foundation for pursuing opportunities such as:
  • DevOps Engineer — Build and maintain automated development, testing, deployment, and infrastructure workflows.
  • AWS Cloud Engineer — Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain applications and infrastructure on AWS.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Engineer — Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and computing resources.
  • Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) — Support application reliability, monitoring, incident response, automation, and system performance.
  • CI/CD Engineer — Design and maintain automated software build, testing, integration, and deployment pipelines.
  • Platform Engineer — Build and maintain internal platforms and infrastructure that support software development teams.
  • Infrastructure Automation Engineer — Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Cloud Support Engineer — Troubleshoot cloud applications, infrastructure, networking, permissions, and deployment issues.
  • Build & Release Engineer — Manage software builds, releases, versioning, deployment pipelines, and release automation.
  • Container & Kubernetes Engineer — Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, ECS, and ECR.
  • Systems / Linux Administrator — Manage Linux servers, users, services, permissions, networking, security, and system automation.
  • DevSecOps Associate — Support the integration of security practices into cloud infrastructure and software delivery pipelines.
  • Cloud Operations Engineer — Monitor and maintain cloud environments, respond to incidents, and support highly available production systems.
  • Junior Cloud Solutions Engineer — Assist in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions for businesses and organizations.
  • Freelance & Consulting Opportunities
  • The skills acquired can also support freelance, contract, remote, and consulting work. Graduates may provide services such as cloud server deployment, AWS infrastructure setup, Docker containerization, CI/CD pipeline implementation, Linux server administration, application deployment, cloud migration assistance, infrastructure automation, monitoring configuration, and DevOps support.
  • Career Development
  • This programme is designed to provide a practical foundation for entry-level and junior DevOps/cloud opportunities while helping existing IT professionals expand their skills.
  • Career outcomes are not guaranteed and will depend on the student’s practical competence, experience, portfolio, certifications, location, and employer requirements. Students are encouraged to build a strong project portfolio and continue developing their AWS and DevOps expertise after completing the programme.

Prerequisites

  • This programme is structured to take learners from foundational concepts into professional DevOps practices, so extensive previous DevOps experience is not required for admission.
  • Students should ideally have:
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using a computer.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, files and applications.
  • Basic understanding of the Internet and web technologies.
  • Ability to install and configure software.
  • Willingness to learn command-line tools and scripting.
  • Access to a reliable computer and Internet connection.
  • Ability to create and use an AWS account for practical laboratories.
  • Programming experience is helpful but not mandatory. Basic programming and scripting concepts required during the programme will be introduced as part of the training.
  • Important distinction: AWS describes the target candidate for its separate AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional exam as typically having two or more years of AWS environment experience plus SDLC and programming/scripting experience. Those are AWS’s certification-exam expectations, not requirements for enrolling in this SolveTech Academy training programme.
